Cars And Cash Seized – Bank Accounts Frozen In Garda Operation

Gardaí have seized vehicles and cash while a number of bank accounts have been frozen as part of an investigation into criminal activity in Clare and Tipperary.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that as part of ongoing investigations targeting a Munster-based organised criminal group, Gardaí attached to Clonmel Garda Station conducted search operations at locations in Counties Tipperary and Clare on the 27th of March and the 30th of April 2024.

During the searches, two cars each valued at €60,000 were seized, along with a sum of cash €2,950. Additionally, five (5) separate bank accounts with deposits totalling €17,000 were frozen under money laundering legislation.

The spokesperson added: “While no arrests were planned in this phase, today’s operation marks a significant development in this ongoing investigation.”
