Number Of Clare Property Transactions Rises Above Pre-Pandemic Levels

The number of property transactions in Clare so far this year appears to have risen above pre-pandemic levels.

785 sales were filed in this county in the first seven months of the year according to the CSO.

The 125 transactions filed in Clare in July 2021 was the highest monthly number in eight months.

The 785 filings in this county in the first seven months of the year was a near 18 percent jump on the same timeframe in 2020, and was slightly above the same period in 2019.

Average property prices on those that were legally transferred in July were €175,000 according to the CSO, with levels remaining around static compared to earlier in the year.

Median prices though sit at €170,000 – a near 9 percent jump on April’s figure.

First time buyers in this county, meanwhile, are paying an average of just over €192,000 when getting their feet on the property ladder.

People buying their first home accounted for nearly a quarter of transactions in Clare in July – a percentage that continues to climb as 2021 progresses.
