Novas Say More Progress Needed On Restoring Vacant Properties To Prevent Homelessness

One of the region’s leading homeless service providers says more progress is needed on restoring vacant properties to reduce homelessness levels locally.

It comes after the Minister for Housing said he expects the numbers of homeless children to increase in the coming months, but that ‘significant improvements’ will be made on current figures by mid-2022.

61 children in the Midwest were documented as homeless by the Department of Housing at the end of October – up from 45 at the beginning of this year.
