Concern has been raised over a continued lack of investment in Clare eating disorder services.
HSE MidWest has confirmed that while recruitment is ongoing to further develop a team for children and young adults, it has not received funding to put together an adult service.

Currently, adults suffering from eating disorders in the region are referred to community mental health teams, which the HSE says provides evidence based interventions.
Shannonbanks Sinn Féin Councillor and HSE Regional Health Forum MidWest member James Ryan says it’s not acceptable.
