A transplant recipient from Newmarket on Fergus is encouraging people who want to donate to have a conversation with their families about their wishes.
Organ Donor Awareness Week runs until Friday and the Irish Kidney Association is hoping more people will use this week as an opportunity to become a donor and give the gift of life.
Up to 600 people across the country are on waiting lists for organ transplants.
