A new rescue boat for the Killaloe Coast Guard is to be formally blessed and named today.
The East Clare Coastguard are the only such inland group in Ireland, and today the Junior Transport Minister Alan Kelly will unviil it’s new rescue craft.

The vessel will be named ‘Dalton’ in honour of Thomas Dalton who lost his life on Lough Derg over five years ago – his family and friends assisted in the initial set-up of the unit.
The 20 volunteer members of the Killaloe coastguard have been called out 27 times so far this year.
