New Fís Nua candidate says water charges issue hasn’t gone way

A newly declared Clare General Election candidate says water charges remain a huge issue for the people of the county. 

Niamh O'Brien from O'Callaghan's Mills in East Clare announced over the weekend that she will run on behalf of Fís Nua, become the 13th person to enter the race in Clare.

Last week, Environment Minister Alan Kelly claimed opposition to water charges was "off the agenda" and that it took up very little of his time. 

However Niamh O'Brien, who is the leader of the ‘Clare Says No To Water Charges’ campaign says the issue hasn't gone away.
