It had already been known that Clare has seen a big improvement in the COVID trend, but these figures – dating to last Friday – provide additional analysis of the trends.

They show that in the two weeks up to October 9th, there were 180 cases linked with COVID outbreaks, which is defined as two or more cases in the same location and time.

In the three weeks since then, the number is no higher than 25, suggesting that more people have been keeping their distance, and following other guidelines to break the chains of transmission.

There were 84 cases here last week, the lowest figure recorded since September. So far, this week’s figures are largely in line with, or even below that amount.

Since March, 42 COVID-related deaths here have been linked with COVID-19, including at least two in the month of October.

Those who died here had a median age of 83.

Over 1,300 people here have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
