The number of new car sales in Clare jumped by 15% last month.
The latest figures from the Society of Motor Industry show there were 1,391 new car registrations in the county in April, up from 1,204 in the same month last year.
The rise in figures is above the national average of 14%, with almost 9,000 new cars sold across the country over the four weeks.
