Clare’s motor industry are hopeful of a rebound in sales figures in the second half of this year.
July 1st saw the introduction of new 172 plates that will adorn all new cars purchased over the coming months
June, the final month of 171 plates, saw 23 new cars registered in Clare as it appears the majority of punters were holding off for the new plates this month.

That brings the total number of new cars sold here this year to just under 2,000, but figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show that’s still more than 300 less than last year, but still ahead of figures in 2015.
