Nearly Half Of Clare Prisoners Reoffend Within A Year Of Being Released

Nearly half of Clare prisoners released from confinement reoffend within a year of being let out.

New figures from the Central Statistics Office show 41 of 102 prisoners with an address in this county released in 2019 committed a crime again within 12 months.

The number is roughly in line with the State average, though lower than neighbouring counties of Limerick and Tipperary.
