Nearly €6 Million In Funding For Clare Roads & Greenways Announced

Nearly 6 million euro in funding for roads and greenways in county Clare has been announced by the Department of Transport.

The West Clare Railway Greenway is to receive more than half a million euro in funding.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland is to allocate more than 4.4 million euro to Clare County Council to improve this county’s roads in 2022.

A further 600,000 euro is being set aside to maintain roads here next year.

There will also be €970,000 invested in greenways across the county.

Half a million euro will go into the 20 kilometres of the route between Kilrush and Kilkee in the West Clare Railway Greenway project.

A further 200,000 is being set aside for the trail between Ennis and Ennistymon, with 50,000 each earmarked for the route between Ennistymon and Miltown Malbay, as well as Miltown to Moyasta.

The Shannon Greenway will receive a €100,000 boost under today’s announcement, while the Limerick to Scariff route is to be granted 70,000 euro.
