The number of new electric vehicles registered in Clare between January and August was nearly three times higher than in the same period last year.
Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 132 electric cars were registered in this county in the first eight months of 2021, compared to 47 in 2020 and 48 in 2019.
Clare has seen an eight percent increase in the total number of vehicles documented so far this year compared to 12 months prior.
