Clare had a natural increase of almost 250 last year.
While births fell marginally in the county in 2025, new data has revealed there were 239 more births than deaths here.
A total of 1,215 births were registered in Clare last year, 52% of which were male while 48% were female.
The total figure was down slightly from 1,232 in 2024.
64% of births were to women in their thirties, with 25 to 29 being the next greatest age bracket, followed by 40 to 44.
The figures also reveal 58% of births in Clare were within marriage last year, and the average age of a mother was 33.3.
There were 976 deaths registered in the county in 2025 meanwhile which was up 5% on the previous year, with males accounting for 54% of this number.
Four infant deaths were recorded along with one neonatal fatality.
Malignant neoplasms were the leading cause of death in Clare, making up 30% of deaths.
The findings reveal the county saw it’s lowest number of suicides in 15 years last year, with just nine recorded across the 12-month period.
