Murder Inquiry Expected Following Dublin Stabbing

Gardai are expected to launch a murder inquiry – following the fatal stabbing of a grandfather in Dublin.

55-year-old Michael Gannon was babysitting his two grandchildren aged 12 and 6 at their home in Skerries – when he was attacked.

The incident happened at around 6 o’clock yesterday evening.

The State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy is currently conducting a post mortem examination – to determine his exact cause of death.

A 29-year-old Romanian man – who was arrested nearby shortly after the incident – is still being questioned by Gardai.
