Moneypoint Station Manager Says Plant Set To Bring New Jobs On Stream

Moneypoint’s Station Manager says the plant will bring new jobs on stream in the medium to long term.

A 50 million euro synchronous compensator, which will enable higher volumes of renewables on the system, has been unveiled by the ESB.

The plant is due to cease burning coal by 2025, with a focus towards its offshore wind project set to take precedence towards the end of the decade.

Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville at the plant, Station Manager at Moneypoint, Stephen O’ Mahony, says that’ll result in more workers being needed at the West Clare plant.
