Moneypoint and Shannon Airport hit by electricians strike

 

The ESB says electricity supply isn’t being affected by the electrician’s strike at the Moneypoint Power Station.

It’s one of dozens of sites nationwide being picketed today by members of the TEEU in a row with employers over pay.

An ESB spokesperson says a number of staff refused to pass the striking workers but the company has now dispute with electrical contractors.

Some construction work Shannon Airport has also been stalled by the action which has also affected major projects like the Lansdowne Stadium and Corrib Gas Pipeline.
