The Office of Public Works is calling on estate agents to express an interest in disposing of forty former Garda Stations across Ireland, including those in Carrigaholt, Labasheeda and Broadford.
Chairman of the Labasheeda Community Centre, Robert Smith, says people there are disappointed that this effectively rules out any chance that the station might re-open.
However, PJ Mason of the Broadford Action Committee feels the sale of their former station could be good news for the East Clare village.
