Midwest Simon Says Emergency Accommodation Must Be Extended To Rural Clare

Midwest Simon is urging the government and the local authority to make accommodation available in rural areas of Clare.

It follows the publication of May’s homeless figures which reveal that homelessness in Clare has risen by 11% in the last year.

Meanwhile, Clare County Council’s Homeless Action Team saw 50 new presentations in May which is the highest number on record.

Midwest Simon CEO Jackie Bonfield has been telling Clare FM’s Seán Lyons that emergency accommodation must be made available in rural as well as urban areas of the county to avoid uprooting people from their networks and familiar amenities.
