The organisation has published a new survey today which shows that 95 percent of rental properties available in November were too expensive for those in receipt of rental payments.

It also finds there are more than 5000 people living in emergency homeless accommodation.

Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly has today announced an additional 1000 social housing units.

But General Manager of Midwest Simon, Jackie Bonfield says there's more immediate steps that could be taken such as raising rent allowance.
