Metered Gas Consumption Falls By 15% In Clare In 2020

The amount of metered gas being consumed in Clare fell by more than 15 percent last year.

New CSO figures show 163 gigawatt hours of metered gas were consumed here in 2020 compared to 195 in 2019.

There was a particular drop in consumption during the second and fourth quarters of last year, which may be on account of the impact of the pandemic.

Metered gas use here is now at around 2017 levels, with demand traditionally being highest in the first three months of the year.
