Metal Detectors To Be Scrapped At Jerusalem Holy Site

Israel’s prime minister says metal detectors at the entrance to a holy site in Jerusalem will be replaced with less obtrusive surveillance.

The government has voted to scrap the gates at the shrine, known to Muslims as Noble Sanctuary and Jews as Temple Mount.

They were installed after two police guards were shot dead from inside the compound earlier this month.
