Mayor Of Ennis Hits Back At “Faceless Wonder” Following Public Seating Online Criticism

The Mayor of Ennis has hit back at anonymous criticism over the installation of new public seating in the county town.

An online debate has broken out after three steel-framed armchairs were put in place opposite the Ennis Courthouse facing the River Fergus on New Road on foot of an Ennis Tidy Towns Age Friendly initiative.

A post published anonymously on social media in recent days has asked “what smart person in Clare County Council signed this stupid thing off?” and has suggested the money would be better spent on housing, improved road conditions, health services and reducing the number of vape shops.

Mayor of Ennis and Ennis Tidy Towns Chairperson, Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard, says she doesn’t heed scrutiny from “faceless wonders”.
