The Mayor of Ennis is hailing plans for the largest ever private housing development in the county town as a mark of confidence in its future.
Plans for a 65 million euro, 289-home scheme in Drumbiggle were lodged directly to An Bord Pleanala by Glenveagh Homes this week.

The application includes a proposal to sell 57 houses to Clare County Council for €12.4m, as part of the Part V Social and Affordable housing requirement.
Fianna Fáil Councillor, Clare Colleran Molloy says developers and investors have been attracted by the Ennis 2040 plan.
