A man in his 50’s has pleaded guilty to a number of sexual offences against a girl who was under 17 at the time.
The offences happened in Dublin on various dates between January 2010 and March 2011.
The man, who can’t be identified at this stage, was due to stand trial on these charges but pleaded guilty to a number of offences when they were put to him during his arraignment hearing this morning.
He admitted two counts of engaging in a sexual act with a girl, who was under 17 at the time, on dates between Dec 2010 and Feb 2011.
He also pleaded guilty to four charges of sexually exploiting the same child on various dates between January 2010 and March 2011.
The court heard a number of other charges have been dropped.
The man was remanded on continuing bail afterwards and is due back in court in July for his sentence hearing where the full facts of his offending will be laid out before the court.
