Fire crews from Ennis were mobilised to assist colleagues in Galway at fire close to the county border this morning.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 11am when a fire was reported in a shed at the rear of a property at Killeen on R462 Gort to Tulla road.
Units of Galway Fire and Rescue Service from Gort station initially responded to the incident.
On arrival at the scene, fire crews requested additional support and Clare County Fire and Rescue Service was asked to mobilise resources from Ennis station.
Gardaí and the National Ambulance Service were also alerted.
Fire crews worked to bring the fire under control while fire service first responders administered first aid including oxygen to one person until an ambulance arrived.
The man was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
