Gardaí at Mountjoy in Dublin are investigating a serious stabbing incident near the Five Lamps in the north inner city at around 10:45 last night.

The 45 year old victim was rushed to the Mater hospital where his condition is described as critical.
No arrests have been made, and investigations are continuing.
