A man has been arrested in the Shannon area while speeding, and driving under the influence of the drugs.
The man was detected doing 165 kilometres per hour in a 100 km zone on the dual carriageway on the outskirts of the town.
In a tweet, Gardaí say he was suspected of drug driving, and that he had no licence or insurance.
The man’s vehicle has been seized, and a court date is to follow.
