Gardaí arrested the man on Monday morning after a young Spanish student came forward claiming she’d been lured from the Liffey boardwalk in Dublin city to a tent at the Irish Glass Bottle site on the southside of the city.
He was released the following day without charge and a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Just after 12.30 this afternoon, the 24-year-old was charged with rape, false imprisonment and threatening to kill the woman or cause her serious harm.
His bail was revoked this morning when he first appeared before Judge Michael Walsh on separate charges this morning.

Five Gardaí gave evidence of him allegedly breaching bail conditions, including an order for him to stay out of a certain part of Dublin city.
After remanding him in custody, Judge Walsh directed he be assessed by a psychiatrist after his solicitor Tony Collier said he had concerns about his mental well-being.

The DPP has directed trial on indictment.
