Just under half a million euro in Government funding has been granted for East Clare’s Lough Derg Blueway.
It part of an 8 million euro allocation for outdoor recreation projects under a new scheme annonced by Minister Michael Ring, who hopes the money will boost tourism in 18 areas.

498,000 has been earmarked for the Lough Derg Blueway Amenity Trail and Looped Walks for a new hardcore finished 5km path on the verge of the R465 from Bealkelly to Tuamgraney.
Minister Ring says projects like this have a big impact.
