Major Extension Approved For Kilmihil Secondary School

A major extension has been approved for a west Clare secondary school.

St. Michael’s Community College in Kilmihil has been given the go-ahead for 10 mainstream classrooms as well as 5 special education classes.

The Minister for Education, Norma Foley has signed off on a significant extension at St. Michael’s Community College in Kilmihil.

The project will see 10 mainstream classrooms, along with 3 Special Education Teacher rooms and 2 Special Education Needs rooms.

There will also be a brand new textile room, an art room, a project storeroom, a technical graphics room, a science lab and a science preparatory room.

A design team and project manager are to be appointed shortly.

The school has welcomed the announcement in a post on social media, saying it’s good news for both staff and students.
