Lying Eyes Appeal to take two days.

 

The appeal by Clare woman Sharon Collins against her conviction for conspiring to murder her partner PJ Howard and his two sons will take up to two days.

The 46 year old from Kildysart Road in Ennis was convicted a year ago of hiring, Egyptian poker dealer Essam Eid from Las Vegas, to carry out the killings.

She was sentenced to six years in jail in November 2008.

Her co-accused Essam Eid was convicted of extortion and handling stolen goods, the jury could not agree a verdict on the conspiracy charges against him.

Her co-accused Essam Eid was convicted of extortion and handling stolen goods, the jury could not agree a verdict on the conspiracy charges against him.

Today their appeals were mentioned before the Court of Criminal Appeal and the court heard both challenges will be heard together and their lawyers are seeking a two day hearing.

The case has been put back into the list to be mentioned again in October.
