Concern Sixmilebridge Is Heading For A Flood Unless River Is Dredged

It’s feared Sixmilebridge is in for a major flood event, unless the river passing through the town is dredged urgently.

The Shannon Municipal District has written to the OPW, saying it’s vital that the O’Garney River is cleaned out, as it’s been around 15 years since it was done.

Before the last clean out, flooding affected some of the roads in the area, as well as the town square, and now with the silt building once again, it’s feared another flood could be on the cards.
