Local Authority Staff Vote For Strike Action

Water shortages may be in store for Clare homes and businesses as strike action is threatened in a row over plans for a national water authority.

The Irish Examiner Reports that workrs in local authorities nationwide, including Clare County Council, have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial actionin the event that they feel the Department of the Environment fails to consult them on their plans for the body.
