Limerick Senator Condemns ‘Broken Promises’ On Shannon Heritage

The Seanad has heard claims that the government has ‘broken its promises’ on supports for Shannon Heritage.

Both King Johns Castle and Bunratty are now facing months of closure after 2.6 million euro in funding was promised by government, but only 550,000 euro was delivered.

Sinn Féin’s Paul Gavan said it is an example of the West of Ireland being treated differently, and that key sites in Dublin would never be faced with closure.
