Limerick man jailed over “savage” attack

A Limerick man has been jailed for eight years after "savagely" beating a man in an unprovoked attack.

The victim, 61-year old Thomas Ryan, from Fair Green Limerick, who died in a nursing home 18 months later, had been left in a permanently disabled state after sustaining serious head injuries during the attack in 2013.
