Lahinch GP Insists Cancelled Appointments During Pandemic Leading To Rising Number Of People On Trollies

A Lahinch GP believes the cancellation of appointments throughout the pandemic is contributing to the rising number of people presenting to the emergency department at University Hospital Limerick.

Cancellations because of restrictions are resulting in patient’s symptoms progressing, leading to poorer health and making it more likely for them to be admitted.

UHL remains the busiest in the country with a large proportion of those admitted over the age of 75, often in poor health, leading to longer stays.
