Organisers of the annual Lahinch Christmas Day swim say traditional numbers would make it unfeasible to hold the event in the same way this year.
A deInstead, people are being encouraged to take the plunge between December 1st and 25th in small groups.

As in other years collections will be taken in aid of Samaritans Ennis and Clare – people can donate online until January 31st.
One of the organisers, Cliodhna Fawl, says most years the prom in the coastal village is thronged with people wishing to partake.
