A Killaloe firefighter claims there’s “no political will” from the government or Local Government Management Agency to prevent their scheduled strike from taking place.
SIPTU firefighters across the country are due to resume industrial action from this Wednesday after an 82% majority voted to reject the Labour Court’s recommendation.
It has been confirmed however that members of the retained fire service will remain on stand-by for the duration of the strike to deal with life-threatening emergencies.
Killaloe Fire Station Shop Steward Edward Moloney says there appears to be little interest in improving conditions for firefighters.
