The owner of a Kilkee watersports firm claims the loss of the use of a beach hut will threaten the future of their business.
Nevsail has been running summer camps for children and teenagers for 15 years and using the two beach huts on the strand as dressing rooms, as well as storage.
Now though, the council says it will only make one of those available going forward which the company says will rule out group bookings, which account for half of their business.
The local authority says it’s unable to comment on the matter as the huts are subject to a confidential licensing arrangement – but Dave Neville of Nevsail says with over 3,000 signatures on a petition to save the service, the support is evident.
