People in Clare are being urged to play their part in saving lives, as blood supplies hit their lowest level in some time.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says blood banks are under severe pressure, with only enough supply to last just under 4 days in hospitals across the county.

A clinic is operating at The Falls Hotel, Ennistymon, today from 4.45pm to 8pm and donors are being asked to make an appointment by calling 1800 222 111.
