Investigation Launched Following Break-In And Vandalism Of DeValera Library

An investigation has been launched following a burglary at the De Valera Library in Ennis.

The perpetrators broke into the building between 9.30 and 10.30pm on St Stepehen’s Night and are understood to have gained access by breaking a rear window.

The inside of the premises was subsequently vandalised with grafitti.

Clare Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Catríona Holohan is urging anyone with information to come forward.

“Gardaí in Ennis are investigating a burglary that took place at the De Valera Library on Harmony Row on St. Stephen’s Night, the 26th December between 9.30pm and 10.30pm. Gardaí believe the perpetrator or perpetrators gained access by breaking a rear window. Damage was caused to the inside of the old library and areas of the property were damaged with graffiti.

Ennis Gardaí are appealing to anyone that observed any persons on Harmony Row on Friday night, St. Stephens’s night between 9.30pm and 10.30pm. If you have any information regarding this crime, please contact your local Garda Station or Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.”
