The Taoiseach is to contact Irish Water in relation to ongoing supply issues in parts of West Clare.

It comes as homes and businesses in the Miltown Malbay and surrounding areas were left without water for a fourth time in as many weeks, this week.

The infrastructure dates back to the 1960’s and is in poor repair and while Irish Water has already carried out works on part of the trunk main, the second phase of works aren’t due to be completed until early 2021.

The Taoiseach has been questioned on the matter by Clare’s Independent TD, Michael McNamara in the Dáil this afternoon, and Leo Varadkar says he will look into the matter.
