Planning Application To Be Submitted For Ballyvaughan Wastewater Treatment Plant

A Clare Independent TD is hopeful there’ll be shovels in the ground in Ballyvaughan next year, if a planning application for a new wastewater treatment plant is successful.

Uisce Éireann, formerly Irish Water, has confirmed it will submit an application for the infrastructure in North Clare by the end of June, with the hope of completing works by the end of 2025.

Ballyvaughan was identified by the EPA in 2021 as one of five Clare villages which discharged raw sewage into seas and rivers every day, due to lack of connectivity to a treatment plant.
