An Independent TD is to forfeit the rope ladder that he used to gain access to an unauthorized area of Shannon Airport.
Along with fellow TD Clare Daly, Deputy Mick Wallace was convicted of entering a restricted area at the airport on July 22nd last year and during their trial, he did ask for the rope ladder to be returned.

It has remained at Shannon Garda Station since then, and today at Ennis District Court the state is to make an application for it to be forfeited permanently.
The Irish Examiner reports that Mr. Wallace is not due to attend, and that the application is to proceed with his consent.
