The head of the IMF has said Ireland’s success in meeting its bailout targets should be recognised.

Speaking after a meeting with the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Finance Minister at Government buildings, Christine Lagarde said the IMF would keep an open mind on the possibility of extending the maturity date of Ireland’s bailout loans.
However she said there could be no special ad-hoc terms or policies invented for any country.
She said Ireland’s success in meeting its bailout targets should be recognised.
