Huge Numbers To Flock To Burren For Food Fayre And Winterage Festival

People from across the country will flock to Clare this weekend to witness a unique farming tradition which dates back thousands of years.

The Burren Food Fayre and Winterage Festival takes place across the bank holiday weekend and boasts a bumper itinerary including guided walks, storytelling, music and various workshops.

Central to the festivities is the annual cattle drive, an ancient tradition where cows are brought up the mountain for winter and it’s the only place in the world where this is practiced.

Head of the Burren IFA, Michael Davoren, says the drive is a marvel to witness but also has huge environmental benefits.
