HSE Urges People In Clare To Vaccinate Against Measles

The HSE is urging people who haven’t been vaccinated against measles to contact their GP, amid an outbreak in the region.

Seven cases of the highly contagious infection have been diagnosed so far in the Limerick City area.

Strict visitor restrictions have been put in place at University Hospital Limerick to prevent it spreading – while those showing symptoms are being urged to stay at home and contact their doctor by phone.

HSE specialist in public health Dr Rose Fitzgerald has been telling Clare FM’s James Mulhall it’s imperative this is adhered to so that the outbreak is contained.
