HSE Midwest Calls On People To Re-Double Efforts As Cases Expected To Rise Further

The HSE’s Director of Public Health for the Midwest is expecting a high number of cases in the region over the coming days.

It follows an outbreak of the virus at University Hospital Limerick and Ennis General, cases within the student population, workplaces outbreaks and household and extended family cases.

25 cases were confirmed in Clare last night and 85 in Limerick.

Dr. Mai Mannix has commended the people of Clare for efforts to keep case numbers down so far, but insists it’s imperative that people re-double their efforts to prevent recent progress becoming undone.
