The HSE has described the nurses claims that management at Dooradoyle failed to engage with staff during LRC talks as a gross misrepresentation of what actually occurred.
Both the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation along with SIPTU allege that the Executive refused to discuss any element of the recommendations made by the Special Delivery Unit – which was ordered by the Health Minister.
They also claimed management rejected any proposals put to them to help alleviate the overcrowding at the region’s main emergency department.
However in a statement to Clare FM, The HSE says it did offer additional hours to support A&E services but that this was turned down.
